It took me a while to write this review because Janelle is beyond words. She is absolutely everything we wanted out of a realtor plus a whole lot more. You will be lucky to have her not only as a realtor, but as a guide and you’ll make a friend along the way.
First off, she is incredibly knowledge about the PNW and the intricacies in the housing market here. This proved to be invaluable during our home search. Also one thing I particularly appreciated was her communication (which ultimately won us our perfect house - even though we didn’t have the highest offer. She’s THAT good - more on that later)
She also has a breadth of knowledge about the types of homes here and exactly what to expect in these 100 year old homes. Things that we had absolutely no prior knowledge about, she was more than happy to nerd out and teach us.
Honestly, house hunting with her was so much fun in general and she encouraged us to expand the areas we had originally “settled” on and it proved to be the absolute right decision. I miss house hunting with her weekly, to be honest. 😂 She is both firm as well as honest when we found ourselves looking to potentially compromise in areas we had told her we didn’t want to. She would call us out on it and honestly it was so appreciated since we ended up finding our perfect home. Her little redirections when we’d get distracted by the less important things like fixtures or paint and redirect us to the layout, location, and the bones of a house was so helpful.
She was always willing to look at places even if she didn’t think it’d be perfect for us. Just to get an idea on what we really wanted and to hone in on that. I really appreciated that because there’d often be times where I’d see something online and loved it, and then didn’t like it at all in person. And places we were lukewarm on online and actually liked in person. So we really appreciated her patience as we not only learned what WE liked, but the encouragement to look outside what we thought we wanted.
Next, we literally wouldn’t have gotten our house without her. I’m not exaggerating. We came in with a competitive (quite) above asking price at her recommendation. Her intuition proved to be correct. But beyond this, she was so communicative and relayed how much we loved the house in a way to the sellers agent that proved to be the thing that won us the house. Her attention to detail, timeliness, and passion for her work are what won us our house. Even though we were first and above asking, we ended up not being the highest offer. But we still got the house because the seller and their agent loved how on top of it Janelle was.
Once our offer was accepted, Janelle helped calm our anxieties because things move FAST once an offer is accepted. She was paramount in the loan process as well - she recommended the lender we ultimately hired and they were wonderful to work with, too. Since they had worked together before it was a super smooth process all things considered. She’s had great recommendations for contractors for needed repairs as well which has been incredibly helpful.
Janelle really stuck with us every step of the way. She came to our signing with us at the loan office which was super sweet and reassuring (it is an insane amount of paperwork!) And when key day arrived, she was so stoked for us!! You can really tell how much she cares about each and every one of her clients and it makes her not only a truly exceptional realtor, but a fantastic human to have in your corner. She also left us the most thoughtful gift basket in our new house that made my husband and I both cry a ton at the thoughtfulness. This was not our first home purchase, but if we’re ever in the market to buy again I will absolutely want to work with Janelle. Can’t recommend enough.

Janelle is a better realtor than I could have hoped for. She helped me find my first home, after nearly two years of house hunting together. She made house showings work last minute (so many times). Her enthusiasm and love of houses and her job made the process really fun and less stressful! She has an amazing knowledge base with all things house, and helped connect me with people I needed on short notice (she called stone masons and electricians to help with inspections on the home I bought!). I always felt that she kept my best interests at heart. She was very forthcoming regarding the flaws of various houses (helped point them out to me) and also celebrated the wonderful quirks of Portland homes. She was a great advocate when it came time to negotiate terms on the house sale. She is organized and very responsive. She is also a wonderful human and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

My partner and I loved working with Janelle. Highly recommended. She really takes the time to get to know her clients and goes above and beyond in every aspect.
She’s super thoughtful and intuitive about real estate in this region which was very helpful on our home search. We ended up finding our dream home and got it even though we weren’t the highest offer. We would not have gotten the house without her.
She even got me WD40 after I offhandedly complained about some squeaks in the kitchen which was incredibly thoughtful and funny.
Highly recommend her to anyone who’s looking for a real estate agent that will have their back.

Janelle…..Where do I start. This wonderful woman worked night and day to find my daughter and I the right home. She linked me up with the right mortgage company that worked closely with us to ensure we made the deal happen. This is a rough market….she kept my head up even when I was about to give up.
